Does anyone know of places that will take a DO student in april on short notice? My plan is to try and rotate in the same city as where I match, so we can find an apartment. The most likely places include Chicago, St.Louis, Houston, Dallas.

I want to do either two weeks of gas, and two weeks of Optho or Two weeks Derm, or Two weeks Rad.

I will try to schedule through hospital I match to, but am not counting on it.

Any help appreciated.

Find a buddy whos a DO and have them sign the paperwork for a "rotation" and then send them a good bottle of wine. Then you'll have all month to look for somewhere to live. regards, bobo

I have a friend who did a month with his father-in-law. The father in law bought him and his wife a trip to alaska for the first week of his rotation. I was so jealous!

Thanks for the thoughts guys, but I could actually just take the month off if I really wanted to. I prefer to get some experience in areas I know will help me prior to starting Intern year, and will allow me to be in the city to look at aparments as well.

Young grasshopper take all the time you can right now, cause you won't be able to later. And everyone gets crushed their intern year, I think extra rotations at this point has marginal benefit at best. bobo
