How many spots will be available at GPRs post match and how do you go about getting a position after match?

There will be a lot of positions open, but they might not be at good programs. This is especially true for NY. Most popular programs will already be full.

Once the match results come out in January, you then contact the unfilled programs individually and see what you have to do to get in. It's quite informal and handled differently by each program.

It's not too late to apply for programs now and it would give you a much better chance of getting into a program you actually want to attend. You're taking a pretty big chance if you wait until after match.

I had a question on going about applying for GPR. Is there any organization like AAO (american association of ortho) which provide information on different GPR programs that are available in the country?

Nearly all dental residency programs (other than ortho and some perio) use PASS and Match. Go to https://portal.passweb.org/ for more information, there is also a link for a program search engine which will give you all the information you are looking for.
