Post-Residency Peds Resume Help

Hello All!

I'm currently entering my third year of peds residency training and I am attending a job fair very soon. Just wondering if anyone had any tips/ideas as to what things should be highlighted on a post-residency resume.

Just looking at my resume, not too much has changed from my pre-residency resume with the exception of a project or two.

I am truly no expert in the world of resumes, but I would think letters of reference hold more clout in landing your first pediatric job than anything you can put on your resume. Sure, if you did some side projects in residency, that's great and you should definitely add them, but I don't think many people expect much to be added to your resume during residency because you are way too busy being a resident. What people do want to know is did you work hard, were you a team player, were you easy to get along with. That should come across from the people you choose to write your references. My wife is a business oriented person and though she has a stellar resume, I can tell you the reason she gets a new, higher up job is based on references from people she worked with.

In the post-graduation years though, resume building is of particular importance, especially when it comes to promotion in the realm of academics.
