I saw a bunch of threads for this in the MD forums but not in the DO forums. Has anyone been put on hold pre-interview and ended up getting an interview? I have a pre-interview hold at DMU and was wondering if I should just take this as a rejection 👎

Me as well

FWIW - I got one last year and heard nothing else the rest of the year, /shrug. I did apply pretty late though so it was probably a super back up interview slot or something.

Well just to keep this thread updated, here are the schools I got put on hold:

Nontrad - Finance and Management degree

3.37 cGPA / 3.78 sGPA / 29 MCAT
50 shadowing hours, 130 volunteering hours

MU-COM - 8/23/2013
DMU - 8/1/2013

If anything changes I will update!

3.6 GPA 32 MCAT
40 shadowing hours including DO
Lots of Volunteer, about 150 patient contact volunteer
no research

On hold at DMU

but... I noticed I made a few mistakes on my secondary and probably could have put more effort into it. Fixing that from now on!🙂

I got a few of these last year. It's not exactly a rejection, but more of a "we'll look at you later if we have spots left". I withdrew from the schools I got them from a few months later and I still hadn't heard anything else from them.

On hold at DMU

3.4 cGPA, 3.2 sGPA
35 MCAT
1000+ volunteer hours (200ish of them patient contact)
40 hours DO shadowing
4 years of research

Honestly, I was pretty crushed. This is THE school because my SO already has a good job lined up in the city. I had already contacted them about my special interest in them and everything. Seeing the stats of other people on hold I'm starting to wonder what gives...

I am very surprised you got put on hold since you have a great MCAT and good ECs. I'm wondering if they are putting people with stats that have a chance with MD schools on hold cause they are assuming that those people would end up getting into an MD school and going there instead. I can't think of any other crazy reason why they wouldn't accept people with great stats.
