hey i just wanted to ask a simple question-what are the differences between training and non-training posts? and when u graduate with an MBChB from uni do u have to do training posts?thanks

a training post is one which counts towards a training scheme. A non-training post is a 6 month or 1 year job which cannot count as fulfilling part of a training scheme. If you want to advance your career, you will have to fulfill x amount of training posts (depending on which scheme you're applying for). If you just want a job and aren't necessarily interested in getting into a scheme, then you can do just a non-training post.

just another thing- is it not essential that you have to complete training posts to get a job or not?i mean wen u graduate ur a doctor but u still hav 2 apply for F1s ryt (wich r training posts)? everything is so confusing-dont kno wat am gona do wen it cums to doing the MTAS thing.😕

oh, okay. Well you do have to complete an intern year or foundation years in the UK. After that, then you can either apply for training posts which can be counted towards fulfilling criteria for a scheme (even if it is for general surgical or general medicine training) or apply for posts which don't count towards any scheme or career advancement, they're just jobs.
