Hey all, I took the DAT this past Friday. Though I'd post some scores:

PA: 19
QR: 21
RC: 22
Bio: 27
GC: 26
OC: 29
TS: 27
AA: 25

PA: It seemed way easier than what I'd seen. I don't understand how I screwed that up! I got a 25 on my last topscore test. Oh well!

QR: Same as above. Easy...what the heck happened? I got 28s and 30s on TopScore.

RC: I usually was in 25s, but whatever, its good enough.

Bio: A few random questions were on it, but generally not too bad, Kaplan style. A physiology class was nice to have.

Gen Chem: Just review your gen chem.

Org Chem: Don't even bother studying, guys. By far easiest section.

I spent a month and a half studying just on my own, no study courses. I had an old copy of the Kaplan book (it was the red one) and I got the TopScore CD. Otherwise, my undergrad classes at my school gave me all the prep I needed. In other words, I spent $50 on study materials.

Good luck all! You'll do just fine!

Oh, if anyone cares, here's my GPA and applied to schools:

Science GPA / Total GPA: 4.0/4.0
Applied: UCLA, UCSF, UOP, Loma Linda, Harvard, UW, Colorado, Maryland, Arizona

Current top favorite schools: UoP and Harvard

And who said SDN wasn't an accurate reflection of the applicant pool/national averages? Those are some ridiculous scores.

The more I read the more I see how this site should be called....studentdoctorbraigingrights.net!!!! If you are going to post something like that...please be prepared to know that you have made at least 20 people start taking prozac. To all of the people feeling depressed by these scores.....you don't have to have these to get in a school. That is all I have to say. This is a general, multidirectional statement.

everyone, let's give the guy "credit" for a job well done. I don't know how I'll perform on my test day but I didn't feel sick when I saw the scores....

Exactly all these scores show is that it is possible to do well on this test. Everyone should take it this way and think they are capable of make such high scores.

Hey! Amazing scores...i know EXACTLY how you feel about the PAT. I basically did about the same thing, 24-25s on the practice and not what I expected on the actual test. I brushed it off as not a big deal....I imagine your percentile for the PAT was in the 90s...so be proud you are still in the top!

My purpose in posting scores is to show there really is hope! 😳 The test is not all that bad, and even when we do mess up a little in a few categories, we can come out looking pretty good. Also, you don't necessarily need to take a review course. In fact, taking the classes in a university and working hard there is totally the most effective way to go.

So just don't freak out on the test 😱 . There were some ******ed questions on the biology section 😕 , but often times if you come back to them and use common sense test strategy without even knowing what's going on, you can still get quite a few right.

Good luck all!

P.S. - I was only like 76th percentile on the PAT, but if you do decently in general and have a few categories that aren't top, I think you'll be ok.

P.P.S. - If you really want to see some ridiculous scores, some guy 2 years ago scored a 28 AA. 😱 Yeah...no kidding. Check the archives.
