Hello all,
I am a new member of SDN and have been overwhelmed with the postbac premed applications (I can only imagine how intense the med apps are!!). I have searched the threads and am still at a loss for a personal statement subject. I don't want to put everything on it chronologically but don't know what to focus on.
I rec'd a degree in Public Relations last year, I have 3.9 GPA and 1300 GRE. I taught English overseas last year and have just returned. While living abroad I had the chance to re-examine my goals, motivations and aptitude and have done research about the health industry and med qualifications. I'm 28 and although I have done volunteer work in the past, I do not have any experience in the health industry. I just returned to the states and will start volunteering at a large hospital next week. I am also enrolled in some lab classes to get me back in the swing of things.
Sorry for the long winded message. I should already have a draft of my essay done and being edited but I just can't seem to even begin it!! I hope someone can offer some suggestions.
