Hi SDN Postbaccs,

Any thoughts on the importance of doing your postbacc at a single institution? Long story short, I did most of my prereqs at Harvard Extension and now just need to take Orgo and A&P but I had to move to California to take care of a family member which interrupted my prereqs. Now I am trying to decide if I should move back to Boston for a year to finish those classes or just do them out here in the Bay Area.

Any thoughts of good places to do Orgo and Anatomy and Physiology in the Bay Area are appreciated.

thanks

4-year place - continuity doesn't matter.

I technically did my post-bac at 2 diff places

UC Berkeley has extension classes that are well reputed.

Can somebody explain to me why A&P is considered a med school prereq now? I'm seeing it mentioned all the time lately. Is this supposed to be in addition to the year of premed bio that includes A&P? Or are people eyeballing the nursing/PT courses?

For the record, the year of premed bio includes lots more than A&P: cell bio, genetics, microbio, evo-devo etc. All of that gets tested on the MCAT.

Best of luck to you.

No clue... undergrad A&P will help for about 10mins of med school anatomy, and maybe an hour of each unit for physio

Appreciate the comment about "4 year place" which I take to mean: Don't do post-bacc classes at a community college which would have been my next question.

I've been looking into Berkeley Extension too

Thanks again, very helpful
