I have a friend with about a 3.0 overall GPA and a 2.5 Science GPA from a top school. She is a Texas resident and I was telling her that she would probably need to look into a postbacc or masters degree program.

Has anyone heard of a really good program in Texas?

Is it better to aim for a state school and save some money or a school with a big name? Do some dental schools prefer one over the other?

Thanks a lot!

baylor has a post-bac. apply only if your a minority

She is Asian, is there no point in applying if you are not a minority?

Does she want to apply in-state or out-of-state? etc... What is her background? Has she taken the DAT yet? Shadowed or vol work?

I should have my Ph.D. in getting into d-school post-bac... so if anyone wants help, just email me on here. I will help you.

With that said, getting into a master or post-bac program in Texas is not needed. She could just take extra sciences classes and bring up the GPA... she could just take business or art classes to round out her app and bring up the GPA... again, just email me if you need help.

It's minority oriented. search on their webpage for more info
