So I dipped my toe. Sharing nuggets of info about what is seen in the general practice of psychiatry. There are disclaimers everywhere of course. And...I was pleasantly surprised at the reception. Here's two graphs of two separate videos. People were watching and the rate was good! It's capped because in YouTube you need to either have an established longitudinal trust like large subscriber base (I just started last week) or an insanely high VVSA score (which I do not know how to do without losing the professional vibe). My stuff got likes and even people saying validating things like "thanks doc for sharing this, my psychiatrist did this and it works!"

But what surprised me is my own psychological reaction. Before hitting the upload button, I felt nauseous, faint, and just jittery. Like, maybe wondering how many anti science trolls would go after it LOL. And...a little trolling did start. Some started sending dislikes +/- passive aggressive comment. This surprised me also, YouTube removed it! Now my stuff has 100% likes and good comments. I hear YouTube now is protective of fact based licensed professionals in a war against misinformation. In some ways I feel like a teen, somewhere a part of me wanted to be liked as a person. Which I throw humor at! Here's the graphs. And I understand why the platform caps for newer channels, it doesn't want bad information going viral. The trust and consistency needs to be established, which I appreciate and take no offense.

"Your meds killed my 4th alter and made the 3rd one autistic, you should stop peddling your poison you big pharma monkey and start giving people real medicine like edibles and kratom"

Eta: /sarcasm because someone on YT might actually think that's real...

When I'm feeling a little better I'll try and drop some more comments for you. Do let me know though if one person commenting too often is going to trigger some Doctors on YouTube alarm system.

Whoa, Google gave me a shout out! It referenced the clinic AND the video : ). Makes me feel like such a guru although it's stuff a PGY1 knows LOL. But hopefully it increases trust the general public has of the field of psychiatry and better adherence to a full med trial. It sprinkled a blurb about the clinic location and vouched for people to check out our services. Powerful marketing. I mean, not quite sure if I want that or not, in case the lines get plugged up. But we'll have to see.

OMG that is awesome! Congratulations.

I've watched all your uploads so far, I really like the way you present stuff (maybe lower the volume on the background music just a tad though). Sorry my brain hasn't been switched on enough to comment recently though.

thanks so much : ). It means a lot. I hear it takes forever to build up an audience. Statistically most people get discouraged by the numbers and give up. That and, it takes a ton of learning to even be able to produce a video (just any video, even a bad one) and tons of hours of practice to even get decent at the job. Will do with the music. Way I see it, long as it helps someone, that's all that matters. I mean, if someone has thousands of views, that's a massive reach that will exceed any ability to see patients one by one. Like if I saw 4k patients in that span of time I'd literally be dead xD.

@Merovinge I definitely plan to invite you some day. But I want it to be when the audience is more established. I wrote up 4 long form scripts and I plan to batch record. But one of them is about the all too often complained about insomnia. I do get on my soap box on z meds. But I think I was delicate enough to not create too much of a flame war. There is some humor in it. Like calling clock checking a cardinal sin that will make any treatment fail. Not only do I say don't watch the clock, I say to get an eye cover and black out window curtains so you cannot even use daylight as a clue. Even squinting for a peek...a no no. Another long form is meant to be a medical thriller about an unusual published case report. The lady who was obsessed with getting rid of bed bugs...and the bed bugs were probably never there....I'm having fun and trying to not obsess over numbers.

Hi, i had a question, I know you ssaid you have disclaimers everywhere, but curious did you ask your malpractice company if you need any riders, or are there restrictions or limitations on social media or did you consult a lawyer about any physician/patient legal issues.
congrats on your channel
