Postpone exam to finish UWorld?

I will be around 200 questions short of finishing u world. Does anyone recommend postponing the exam a few days to finish the Qbank? I only ask because I could do this if needed and I feel like there is a lot to learn via the World questions. Thanks 🙂

Not yet, I have taken both UWorld exams and am taking one nbme a week before the test.

Take the NBME to gauge where you are. If it falls within your target score go ahead and take it. Just depends on how well you have memorized the first two years that's all.

Don't postpone just to finish World.

Do most people count the basic science exam that some schools provide as one of the NBMEs? I'm pretty sure that the NBMEs that you can buy are just old basic science exams...

Can't say with 100% percent certainty that they are or aren't old basic science exams. It just really help you gauge where you are before you go into the belly of the beast.

Don't postpone just because you want to finish UWorld... i know several people that only made it 60-75% of the way through it and did very well.

Hey,

I've finished about 90% of uworld but havent really taken the time to correct the questions I got wrong. I have an overall average of 70% though. Do you guys think that just reading the education objectives is enough? I don't have a lot of time before my test...

I think it's a bad idea to postpone just because of World. You will peak at a certain point, and you probably start to go down in your performance as you drag on the time before your exam just to finish World.

World is helpful, yes. It will allow you to see concepts in new ways. However, doing World two or even three times does not guarantee a great score. Use it for what it is: a tool to see different ways questions can be asked. However, that is only half the battle. Get your knowledge base strong via FA/Goljan if you want a decent score on Step 1.
