Postpone Step 1 - How?

I have submitted my application to the ECFMG to take Step 1.

status says awaiting confirmation.

my medical school has sent the form off to them.


My question is:

Can I postpone the exam now if I don't feel ready for it? I had planned to write it in November?


How do I go about doing this?

Wait til the thing gets approved, then send in the application for postponing the exam (IWA or OASIS should have the info/material you need on how to postpone your exams)
