So I was playing basketball last night, and on defense a screener came up and put very minimal pressure on my left knee which has undergone two ACL reconstuction surgeries. I am currently 1 year post-op of my last surgery (2/14/14) first one was 1/12/12, and am very nervous that I may have damaged my allograft. I am 24 years old, and like I said this was a very weak amount of pressure. However, when it happened it kind of felt like my knee shifted in a way that it should not have. I did not hear a pop like my last two tears, but did not know if this was due to it being a cadaver allograft of an achilles tendon (not my own tissue was my theory).
So I guess after that lengthy preamble is that how difficult it is to tear an achilles allograft? Would something so non-traumatic be a culprit of something like this? I was wearing my knee brace when the contact took place, and I was able to finish the game. Sidenote: I do ironically have a pre-scheduled appointment with my surgeon tomorrow for a follow-up. All of your thoughts are greatly appreciated.
