I was walking down the corridor on the way to our OB-GYN M&M conference this afternoon, and I passed by the College of Medicine dean's office, which happens to be on the same floor. There was a sign taped to the door that said "SCRAMBLE DAY. Please do not enter unless it is an emergency, as all Dean's Office staff are dedicated to the scramble today."

Inside the glass walls and doors was a frightful sight. Small crowds of people standing around talking on phones, other people running around with packets of paper. I saw the Dean talking on a phone, and our IM program director was in there, as well. We didn't have any unfilled IM spots at our school, so I'm assuming he was there to help people scramble into IM spots.

There was a full catered spread of food on a table in the lobby. I thought that was nice of our dean's office. People looked very busy but not frantic, if that makes sense. Still, it sent a jolt of anxiety through my spine, just because there were colleagues in there who were having to determine their future in a few minutes or hours. So let's pour one out for our MS4 homies.

(I'm MS3)
