PPD and Sarcoid

Was reading thru FIRST AID and saw that PPD could be negative in sarcoid...does anyone know why that is?

Sarcoidosis is associated with anergy and suppressed cell-mediated immune responses, so a PPD may not show any reaction even if the patient was previously exposed to TB.
