PPD test and sarcoidosis

Can anyone explain why you would get negative PPD test in sarcoidosis?

So in all granulomatous dz, you would get negative PPD right?

I don't think there is any relationship between sarcoidosis and having TB (positive PPD=TB).

I've seen a World question with silicosis associated with TB though.

PPDnegative if no infection or anergic (steroids,
malnutrition, immunocompromise) and in
sarcoidosis.

Not sure bro, I feel like sometimes FA just says tangential stuff that I don't see a connection with. That's why I rely heavier on World questions than learning from FA.

Perhaps Phloston or somebody else can enlighten us?

It's probably because Sarcoidosis promotes some kind of anergy in APC's/CD4 cells so you get a negative PPD even if you have TB and a ''working'' immune system
