This may help a few ppl in my situation get more clarification.... Is anyone at Duke but is on the waitlist to a preferred school that if taken off of you would go to that school.... the reason I ask is because I want to get some sense of what the chances are of any opening spots..... because I know some schools are still pulling off the waitlist....

I don't know anything about this year, but a few years ago I had several classmates at Duke who were accepted off the waitlist in July. From what I've heard this isn't at all out of the ordinary. So don't lose hope yet! I think the Duke waitlist generally moves until right before classes start in late July / early August.
