i just finished an intern year in internal medicine and want to switch to er. i'm taking a year off, any suggestions of what i can do to increase my chances for next year?

i just finished an intern year in internal medicine and want to switch to er. i just moved down to puerto rico, how is this program? and any advice for the application process? 🙂

I have a friend you is an attending down there and did his residency there. (I know him because he did his ultrasound fellowship here). He was by far, one of our best attendings.

No idea about the application process. But I would call the program director and talk to him/her. they will be able to give you the best information. You could also try and arrange a 'look-see'.
