Hi,

I have two quick questions:

1. I want to matriculate into dental school in fall 2008. Can I really open up an AADSAS file now for "practice"? It sounds like a great idea so I know excatly how to prepare and lay out my answers to the questions; I don't care how much it is. I have never even seen one before-- how do I MAKE SURE the program doesn't think I am applying for 2007? And, how do I start a fresh one when I really am ready to apply?

2. I am planning on Feb 1, 2007 for my first DAT, and if needed, May 1st, 2007 for the 2nd one. If I used the second chance, my scores would be at the schools July 1st, latest. Ideally, they would be there June 15th. Is this timing OK? :scared: I will have all the other application components in by the first week of June 2007, making my file complete by July 1st, latest. I want to be sure I can translate the deadlines properly; I just need it in plain English from one of you awesome forum people. Thanks!

As long as you don't enter in your payment information and submit your practice exam. You will be okay. Once the 2008 application cycle comes around, you will be unable to submit the 2007 application. You will have to create another account for the 2008 application even if you had one for 2007.

Timing will be perfect. AADSAS would just be finishing up your application by the time you take your DAT. You'll be okay as long as you don't delay your DAT past 2 months after you submit your application.

I agree. If I were you, I wouldn't bother entering the coursework and grades since all of your work will be erased sometime in early May when they roll AADSAS over for the 2008 cycle and you need to enter everything again from the beginning.

If you feel the need to enter your ECs, personal statement, and the like I suggest that you at least cut and paste your text into a separate document saved to your computer so that next year you have a copy to work with. It's definitely worth poking around in the application just to see what you'll need to do next year.
