i was wondering for those of you who have used this source for studying for the USMLE Step I. when people talk about taking a NMBE practice exam, where do you get this from? Is the test similar to questions on Qbank? And has anyone used the NMS book of exams, and did they find it useful?

Thanks!

it's been a couple of years since i used these materials, but the NBME exams are not really that great for studying (more for you to evaluate how you are doing..questions but no answers). You can purchase them off the NBME web site (i think it's like $45 per test). IMHO, the NBME exams were easier (overall) than Qbank and reflected the general level of difficulty of step 1. Didn't use NMS for step 1, but it is pretty good for step 2. I highly rec. qbank (i know it's expensive, but it is awesome) +/- the NBME tests..i bought one of them three days before i sat for the exam. I'm sure more recent takers may have better insight. hope this helps. good luck.

I went to the NBME website, and i dont know where you can buy the stuff.... there is a place on uslme.org to download stuff, can anyone help me find the tests to buy?

At nbme.org...select self assessment services in left hand column, then purchase the comprehensive basic science...this is how i did it two years ago anyway. hope this helps.

I know at my school they make us take it atleast once and its considered a idea of how you will do on the real thing. They told us a 63 on it isequal to you passing the real board.
