I just took the Biological sciences section of a practice MCAT at (e-mcat.com) while my little one was napping. I got a 6, I know that isn't stellar but I have had no chemisty what so ever (so I guessed at those) and some biological science classes (gen. biology, zoology, botany)

I am several years away from taking the real exam, I was just wondering if the practice exams were good predictors of how you might fair on the real.

Thanks,
Anne

Don't read into the score - it's meaningless for you. Take the classes you are missing, study for the MCAT and THEN take a practice exam under exam conditions. It's the only way to gauge your grasp of the material. Good luck!

Keep in mind that taking the MCAT is about more than knowing the material....it is just as much about knowing HOW to take the MCAT. You will find that the more practice tests you take, the better you will do on each section. Don't sweat getting a 6 in BS on your first practice. I think that my first practice MCAT resulted in an overall 12 or something like that. By the time I finished my 5th I was getting around 33. Sadly, only made a 30 on the real thing....but it was enough to get me in...Just finished M1.

Bottom line: Take as many practice MCAT's as you can get your hands on...and be sure to take them under actual test conditions (Timed with no pauses or time out)

Don't take any more practice tests until you learn the material first. If you really want to work on something, try some verbal sections. Without knowing the material you are onnly guessing so the score isn't meaningful.
