Dear Booboochicken,
Fortunately one cannot ask such questions on their first post (it gives your intention away), please whatever your intention is do NOT waste out minds, thoughts and time. If your are fishing, go to a lake, leave this forum be.
You know, you all can really be jerks! Yes, it is an ambiguous question but there might be people out there without your "great" knowledge that are just seeking some answers and do not know how to formulate the 'right' questions.
To try to boil it down and be of some help....
Do you like to teach....then go into Academics.
I do not like to teach, so my options were to work for a group practice or work for a hospital. Pros of working for a hospital....I don't have to buy into a practice or be a group's slave for whatever time they deem. I don't have to deal with the politics of the group or anything like that. I am pretty independent and like to do things my way. On the other hand, I will never have the income potential that I would have if I worked in a group. That is my experience, for what it is worth. Also, I got my job by blindly sending out my CV. The hospital I am with did not advertise this position, so don't narrow your ideas of how or where you can get ajob based on what is advertised. Hope that is a little help.
trouble with posting? now THAT's awesome 🙂
Im still learning how to use my new computer, I switched to Mac.I actually tried to not post that and delete it (i figured i was being mean)
Probably, you should ask for help on using your Mac, and not worry about what people will think about your "intentions"![]()

what about... politics in academia... are pathologists also susceptible to its effects?

I thinks politics are even WORSE in academia - everyone is kissing the chairman's butt, vying for off-service time, trying to get your paper published in certain journals, etc...academic medicine is kind of cut-throat sometimes.
