Hi, I have two questions!

1) When you first took a full test on one of the sciences section, what score did you start off with, and did you achieve a lot higher from that score by the time you finished preparing for the DAT?

I'm a bit disheartened right now because today, I decided to take the sciences on Crack DAT Sciences just to fully go through one full test to see my baseline. I got an average of 12 in all 3 Bio, GC, OC 🙁

I will be honest in that when I was answering the questions, I wasn't 100% fully concentrated in whether "life or death, this is the right answer," but I did breeze through it by just going with my initial gut instincts or my certain knowledge of the subjects before really digging into the prep books.

I have about 4 months to prepare.

2) Also, for the chemistry section, I noticed that I had the most difficulty remembering material from that section than bio and organic chemistry. I took chemistry 3 years ago, and it was when I was starting out in college, so I don't think I had a strong grasp of chemistry that year to even reflect back on.

Do you have any suggestions about how to go over chemistry material? Are the prep books sufficient to having a comprehensive overview, or should I start working from my chemistry textbook to relearn some of the material that I can't remember?

Dont get disheartened...as u said... you did not concentrate as much as u should have....remember..knowing is half the battle...🙂

For chemistry... the KBB is a good source if you remember the stuff u learned in ur class... however, it is good to review the textbook on topics that you are not confident...

avg of 12 is on a lower side.. i would read the material again for another month or so and then get back to the tests and see where I stand...

good luck....

I think most people would get a 12-16 if they did not study at all. It is fine. From what people say on here, crack dat science is also somewhat hard? So that would make it worse. Of course you will do a lot better after you start studying.

To re learn chemistry, go over the kaplan blue book and watch Chads videos at www.coursesaver.com for $20.

i started off around a 13 and 14 and i have been studying for about 4 months 20 hours each week.

my score is up to around an 18 19 - it takes ALOT of work and dedication
