I'm a 4th year at a CA dental school but will be practicing in Massachusetts when I graduate. My school doesn't offer the NERBs and as 99% of people who graduate stay on the west coast, no one has any info for me about practicing in the east. Does anyone know if MA has some sort of reciprocity with the WREBs or where I can find this information? Or will I have to take the NERBs? And if so, does anyone have any experience taking them at different schools...like how am I supposed to find qualifying patients from the opposite end of the country?

Thanks for any help!

I am in a similar situation and have looked into this using the MA dental board website. Conclusion: take the WREB.

MA will accept a passing score on WREB as long as you take the DSE section of NERB (a multiple choice question exam). It costs $990 extra (ridiculous) to take this single NERB section and it can be taken at any Prometric site--but it would definitely cost more for you to take the entire NERB instead of WREB (considering transportation, hotel, patient procurement, etc. expenses). Plus, the clinical portion of NERB has extra parts (AKA more ways to fail) that are not included in the WREB.

Hope this helps!
