Hi there-

The worst part about medicine, to my inexperienced pre-med eyes n' ears, is dealing with insurance companies. It seems that the system in this country is horribly, perhaps irreparably broken. I want to be a doc because I enjoy patient contact and caring for folks, and yeah, I don't really want to become jaded and disenfranchised before I even start...

I also could see myself leaving this country and never coming back. Wouldn't bother me.

So my question is this. How difficult is it to get licensed in other countries (in Europe, for example) with an American M.D. degree? What are the pros/cons of this? When does one make this happen (i.e., pre-residency? post-fellowship)?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks, folks...
