hey all-
just wondering what the feeling is on schools who are not fully accredited yet...does this really matter? do students avoid these schools? will it affect you being able to apply for a lisence in your home state?? help!!

asking because i got an interview at st. johns wegman school of pharmacy which is candidate status....😕

Pre-Candidate Status allows a school to accept their first class of students. During the first year or two while they are accepting students, the committee comes back to assess the schools program. At this time, the are very likely (though some schools don't) receive candidate status. Candidate status remains until the school successfully graduates their first class.... so in essence, the first four new classes will have to experience this candidate status. Basically, you are putting trust into the school that they will become fully-accredited (which happens after successfully graduating the first class of students), and it lasts for a period of time.

Now, if you go to a school that fails this process, then your time is completely wasted, you would have to likely transfer to another school to finish your program so you could participate in state licensing. I do not know whether this information is 100% accurate, but this is what I believe the general process to be. So, if you are going to go to a newer school, be sure they have a good chance of becoming fully accredited so you do not waste your time and money.

Hope this helps some,
Shawn (futurerxguy)

hey did they call you to offer you an interview, because I got a call today but was unable to answer it till after their office was closed

it's spelled license

and candidate schools are pretty much just as good as accredited schools, it's just candidate schools haven't graduated their first class yet. For pre-candidate schools, they're still in process but the ACPE likes their plan.

Do a search and there should be a lengthy discussion about this already with answers better than what I can spew out.

I personally wouldn't apply to schools that are not already full accredited because I'm chicken. However, if I were to apply to a newer school, I would choose one that is part of a long-standing major university (an example would be SIU at Edwardsville). I wouldn't feel comfortable with some of these people who just decide they're going to start a school.

You're one of those people that will grow up to be the guy who calls the homeowners association on your neighbor because their grass is 1/8" too high, aren't you?

hey if no one corrects him now and he perpetuates his mistake, who knows what employment calamity he'll face later. I figure, I'm doing him a favor 😀

And no I wouldn't call HOA on 1/8"...I'd call if there's an ugly car parked outside

It's the truth..my neighbor called to report us to the city bc my family had an ugly car parked in the street. They said it was ruining the looks of the neigborhood. I don't know why some ppl are so anal. Can't we all just get along???

I did not know pple could do that. Maybe your neighbor was actually confettiflyer. So what did they say abt the car??

St. John Fisher is a college that has been around for awhile even if their pharmacy program is still newer. They also have many undergraduate programs, so I'm not worried about them becoming fully accreditted. Anyways I'm excited because I called them back this morning and I have an interview with them in november 😀

yeah your car was probably driving down property values, and considering the sensitivity of them right about now, i would DEFINITELY call HOA about an ugly car especially if i had clients viewing homes in the area.

Dude, if you did that to me and I found out, I swear to god, you would have numerous windows in your house broken within the hour. God help you I don't have access to explosives. Then after I did it, I'd call the homeowners association on you for having broken **** on your house..

That's why I'm going to try my best to stay away from places where your neighbors can tell you what you can and can't do to your house. I'll wind up assaulting somebody....

haha but that's the beauty of HOA...anonymous reporting. Plus, half the people here would call. I even got a "friendly reminder" when I was moving things around because I had cardboard boxes on my porch. Oh well, they were gone in a quick moment anyway.

I just read through the CC&R's...there really is an "ugly car" paragraph listed in there. It's not as blunt as that, though.

So I take it you won't be coming to Orange County, CA to settle down....this whole place is founded on CC&R's and HOA's.

Ahhh...California. Should have known. Yeah, that's safe to say.....I won't be anywhere near that joint.

And if I didn't find out who did it, I'd **** up the entire neighborhood. Then the rat would suffer by process of elimination.....and **** everybody else, they're probably dinguses, too.

reminds me of brave new world...you should retreat to the mountains and flagellate yourself for everyone to see. At least, that's how it would look if you started tearing up the neighborhood here. baaa
