Pre dec NYU interview and waitlist

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Judging by last years NYU tends to form their waitlist somewhere in March once they done interviewing majority of people. It is also not known to start rejecting people early, so Dec 1 is the earliest someone might hear rejection, although in the past they sent their majority of rejections late Feb- March. Predents.com is down again so you might look it up later.

So does this mean a pre Dec interview is almost the same aas a december interview at Nyu

I would not be surprised if pre Dec acceptance would be similar to Dec acceptance for NYU. What happens in Jan and Feb is different depending how many deposits counted by Jan 15 and Feb 15. While NYU will interview people well into spring many people with good stats like GPA 3.6 and DAT 21 were placed on waitlist last years mainly due to them applying late and interviewing late. Waitlist is known to have decent movement though.
If not for NYU high $$ it would be top choice for many people so initial yield for school is lower than other schools therefore initial amount of acceptances is higher. It might be changing though as for the last few years NYU has changed significantly with updates, great marketing so majority of interviewees are really impressed by school technology, opportunities and faculty.

I never really understood how this works...Does NYU have a wait list AND still interview people at the same time, like mid-spring?
