Hi, Im just wondering what it means to get a pre-december interview for NYU or any other dental school for that fact. Does it greatly increase your chances of being accepted? I also see that people who get interviews get wait listed, but they tend to be people with post December interviews. So does that mean they are truly interested if i get a pre december one? or is there still a good chance they interview me and im placed on the waitlist.

You can still be put on the waitlist, but it's a definite advantage to have a pre-December interview. Schools are allowed to start sending out acceptances on Dec. 1, so if you interview after that date, the school is already partially filled. Interviewing before 12/1 is good, but don't get too cocky...

Most dental school operate on a rolling admissions process. This means that as the applications are received, they are reviewed and granted interviews if applicable. As the interviews continue, more acceptances are being made. Most schools will have filled a majority of their class by Dec. 1. The odds seem to favor an earlier interview, although an interview post Dec. 1 can still be awarded admission.
