Pre-December Rejections for Interviewed applicants?

Can schools send rejections to interviewed applicants prior to Dec. 1st? Or if you interview at a school are your guaranteed not to hear a decision from that school until December 1st, regardless accepted/rejected/waitlisted? I know you cannot be accepted, but what about rejected?

You can be rejected at any time, though I would think the only way to get a pre-December interview AND a pre-December rejection at the same place is to bomb the interview to the point of making fun of the interviewer's family or something.

That makes sense. I want to tell myself that "no news means good news", but I think that no news means... not really anything. It is just more fun to overanalyze things than to wait patiently for December 1st (or later)
