If your school's preprofessional advisement office offers a committe interview, I would do it! If you are not familiar with this process, here is a little background. Usually you have three profs. fill out recs for you and then you turn them into your advisor and he/she will schedule an interview with himself, maybe a few other science profs., and you. This way the admissions committes at which ever schools you apply to will have a non-biased view of who you really are. Some profs. might not write a good rec. and others might sugar-coat them, because they like you. If you can show the committee that you are really interested in dentistry and have all the rest of the qualities to be a great dentist, then they'll write you a good rec. with the committees' view of you along with your profs. If you school doesn't have one, I don't believe it would be put against you. You may even want to suggest to your advisor how he/she would feel setting one up for you. A committee letter just looks better in my opinion. I hope I didn't confuse you. I wrote this really fast. If anything is unclear feel free to ask me! 🙂
