Current Dental Students,

Is there anything you wish you had done/read about before becoming a dental student?

I'm not really talking about DAT Prep, I'm talking about something you wish you would have done/read after you had interviewed at dental schools yet before you actually enrolled. I have some review books for anatomy and the like and just am wondering what might be useful for me to take a look at.

Thanks and best,
Bergoshe

If you look at my OP you will see that I was asking for experience suggestions as well. I do, however, hold a full time job. Got any suggestions?

look into going on medical/dental mission. if you are shadowing a dentist, ask if they know about any. also your undergrad institution prehealth office might be of use. it looks great on an application, will give you chairside experience (hopefully), and above all they are fun and you get to meet great people!

I was going through the dmdstudent blog, that site is amazing. It is great to actually read about what ill hopefully be doing for the next four years. In the last couple of weeks, temple has bounced to my top choice (DMD/MBA program) so it was great to hear about a student at temple. Its funny because I randomly added the schools because it was in Philadelphia and now its my favorite. I feel fully prepared for the interview now!

Thanks

Thanks for the advice!

This is a bit off topic, but since I'm the OP I feel like I can do that.

My question is about the DMD/MBA program as that is making Temple look super appealing to me as well. I'm wondering how the MBA program is structured and if it will apply well to managing a private practice? If anyone has an answer to this or is in the program that'd be great!
