Yup. They are 6 year BS/DO programs. You apply to them out of high school and you are required to get a certain score on the MCAT and maintain a certain gpa during your undergrad to matriculate to the med school as in the agreement. NSU-COM and PCOM come to mind.

I don't believe there are any graduate school programs that give you an automatic DO acceptance, I am only aware of undergraduate programs that do this.

Western also has one with the Clairemont colleges. I'm not sure how mnay years it is or any of the details, and the OP was asking about graduate programs, but since you brought it up i figured i'd chime in.

SIX YEARS?!? So what, you just complete premed classes and don't even bother finishing a bachelors?

OP: I know of no programs which you are asking about. I know of no degree that guarantees you acceptance into any med school... although there are SMP programs that give you a really good shot at a given program (NYCOM has one). But guaranteed acceptance? No such thing in med school. You can even have an acceptance taken back if you don't complete current coursework "satisfactorily".

Um, expecting a normal four year bachlors with the promise of going to med school. Isn't that how it usually works?

No. You can get a bachelors for 4 years at an undergrad and then apply to the medical school at that university, but there are NOT any 8 year combined programs that I am aware of. That makes no sense, no advantage to it.

are we talking strictly DO here, b/c there are many 8 year undergrad/MD programs. and i'd say not having to take the MCAT or suffer through this ridiculously long, tedious, and stressful application process are pretty big advantages.

There is a program where you matriculate to medical school without EVER taking the MCAT??? I don't think that is possible.

you better believe it. shocking huh? there is more than one program that does this. my high school friend is in one of them. She is at UCSD undergrad, will be going to UCSD med school next year. She never had to take the MCAT.

"At the undergraduate level, Medical Scholars may choose any major. They are required only to complete the medical school admissions requirements listed below, and to maintain an overall 3.5 GPA. The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is not required"

Albany Medical College has a probram with Union college - no MCAT required.

Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University - no MCAT

Case Western - no MCAT

GW - no MCAT

At my school they have the 8 year combined program. You do need to take the mcat, but you "only" need a 28 on the MCAT to guarantee going to medical school, which isn't that bad for MD.

The medical school at the University of Wisconsin in Madison also had a similar program where undergrads that maintained a certain GPA would get admission into the med school without needing to sit for the MCAT. I don't know if they still do it.
