pre-interview interview
Started by hopefulpharmd
Hi everyone! For those applying, I hope that this waiting game isn't killing everyone. I was hoping to get some of your thoughts on something. I've been asked to come to UOP to meet with the Dean and admissions counselor next Monday, and I really don't know what to expect. Do you think I should be prepared for interview-type questions, or do you think it will be a more casual thing? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Do you know why they want to see you? Or what it's about? It sounds very special though, especially since applicants normally don't get called just to go speak with the Dean and the admissions counselor. Are you sure this isn't an invite for an interview?

I would definitely be preparing as if it were an interview for admissions (which I am sure it is). I would try to get with someone to run a mock interview. I would read up on the school and the program and be prepared with questions of your own. I am preparing for my interview with Mercer and am doing all of this. Good Luck!!!
(I'm studying for the PTCE, too!)

They asked you to go to see them? Sounds quite unusual to me. Maybe you are really special?
if you don't have great stats from a prestigious school or anything "unique or special done" I might be more worried. Do you happen to have some past academic dishonesty, transfered between schools and didn't send transcripts, or do you even know why they want to talk to you?
WOW. are you a nobel prize winner? PhD holder?

So what happened? What was it all about? Haha, sorry I'm just really curious about it too. Hope it went well!

hey guys, sorry it took me so long to post this. Anyways, so yesterday I met with the dean in the morning and the admissions counselor after that. I think the reason they gave me this opportunity is because I am a former Pacific student, and they just wanted to meet with me and see why I didn't attend the pharmacy school there. I don't know if many of you have visited the school or not, but I had such a great time there. The Dean is so friendly, and everyone there is so inviting. Veronica, the admissions counselor, told me that they are going to start sending out interview invites in about 2-4 weeks. She also told me that they are expecting around 1600 applicants this year....yeah, i know, that's a lot! All in all, I had a great time there, and if any of you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. Good luck to you all! 🙂
