Had a minor crisis a few hours ago

I'm applying to med schools this summer, and I realized that I haven't taken biochem yet. I wasn't planning on taking it, since I'm not a chem major, and the premed advising office at my school does not list that as a class to take for pre-med. But I was looking at some schools, and they require Biochem (ugh)

I suppose this means I will have to take biochem next year, but does that mean I can still apply to med schools this july/august?

yes. just put it into AMCAS as a "future course"

Just curious about what schools you are talking about that require biochem? I've only came across schools that recommend it, so I'd like to know.

off the top of my head, HMS and U of Michigan do, and a few others

Johns Hopkins requires (for the class entering 2012) Biochemistry + lab or 4 credits of biochemistry.
