1. I was out a few days ago, and saw the date 1/7/15, and for some reason my brain interpreted that as 1 on PS, 7 VR, and 15 on BIO. Sick bio score though.

2. This movie seems to be getting a lot of good (and bad) publicity: The interview: Again, the first thing that came to mind was, "Sweet, II- to what school?"

Point being- what are some hilarious, shenanigan, non-nonsensical things us pre-meds think and see on a day to day basis? Also, am I the only one who has the recurring dream of being interviewed at medical school...? #PreMedGoggles

I had a dream once that I was interviewing somewhere and after being accepted on the spot by the dean, she handed me a couple beers for the road. I'm sure there's more dreams that don't persist. I probably dream about interview mistakes every night and scream in my sleep but invariably forget by morning.

I diagnosed myself with strep throat last year. I explained my symptoms and appropriate course of treatment to my ped. He asked me what beta-lactam drugs do. He wasn't ready for my answer—I work in antibiotic resistance/microbial pathogenicity research. He confirmed with a rapid strep and said it was the easiest consult he's ever had.

Nice!!

I had a dream some years ago in high school when I was all "I'm gonna be a doctor, watch ALL the brain surgery videos." I had a dream one night that I was in an OR about to perform a craniotomy and I was thinking "don't worry. I got it cause I'm a professional". I remember looking down at the brain and having a terrible sinking feeling that I didn't know anything. What was I even looking at!?

It's almost as if some small, more mature corner of my brain was trying to tell me something...

I can't un-see the Budweiser logo as the chair conformation of cyclohexane.

Ahhh budweiser...Chair form of cyclohexane. At my UG I TA'd organic chemistry many many times cause i love teaching. Once I was doing a review session (for 600+ students) and I had the budweiser icon as the anchor point for learning to love chair and boat conformation 😛

I thought this thread was going to be similar to "med school goggles" which has to do with one's perceptions of the dating pool in any given med school class.
nope, sorry for the confusion. Since you're here, any funny resident thoughts?

Just wait until you get into medical school and get sick. Friend of mine had a stress-induced headache before finals for an entire week. He was convinced, up until after finals (when the headache disappeared), that he had neurocysticercosis.

He doesn't even eat meat.

Oh man. I took UGrad Human Para, and I think I don't want to eat anything ever again

Once in o-chem lab I was nodding off and thought I was cooking meth haha, gotta love breaking bad folks

There's graffiti outside my school on the way to the subway that says "SNP" but I highly doubt whoever wrote it was referring to single nucleotide polymorphism. Whenever I pass it, I hope they did though, because it gives me hope that juvenile vandals are beginning to appreciate scholarly material.

When Goro mentioned people taking the "DO pathway", I immediately thought: "ha! He must be biochem faculty!".

I dunno but the pre-meds in my classes are pretty attractive. Most people are pretty slim and well-dressed, lol.

That sounds terrible. It's hard enough to go to a UG lecture with a fever. 😕

During my year of physio/biochem every daily alteration to my life (food/emotions/activity) I was thinking about the hormonal and chemical changes in my body that MUST be occurring and how it was effecting my body - I was a walking sac of cells and molecules for a while there

that and jumping into "I'm totally a doctor" mode while intoxicated at parties ever time someone hurts them self or starts to vomit. I once made a makeshift finger sling out of hairties for a girl who slammed her finger in the door totally convinced she had broken it and I had basically just saved the day -_-

My family is already coming to me to ask random medical questions, as though I had any clue, having just received my first acceptance. However, I did work at a pharmacy for a while and could probably be a pretty good guide to the OTC options.

I did just have a random stress dream before my first interview where my mom and I were driving up to the school together and we saw these gorgeous, tall and lanky gray tabby cats all walking down the sidewalk in the same direction, towards the medical school. Mom pointed to them and asked "Are those... medical students?" I looked at them, noticing they we all headed towards the school and said, "I think so!"
