I'm confused about the lab requirements. I'm planning to take my AP Physics Mechanics credit. Then, I would take Physics E&M which has a lab component and my major requires Physics III (Special relativity, quantum mechanics). The latter does not have a lab component. Would having AP Credit for Physics I and then taking Physics II and III fulfill my pre-med requirements?

your physics E&M has a lab component so thats good. if physics II has a lab component (don't know about this cause i took it that physics III doesn't have a lab) then you will be fine fulfiling physics lab requirement. but to be on the safe side take physics I and it's lab. not many med schools will accept AP credit.

Depends on the school. Some schools are pretty weird about AP credit, others don't care. I know one school (Vandy I think) doesn't accept AP credit or advanced courses under any circumstances.

If you got credit for the physics I lab, then you should be fine. However the requirements are usually pretty clear: you need the lab component for all of the required science courses (except biochem).

My pre-med adviser says that that Physics II and Physics III would satisfy my pre-medical requirements (She just got back to me). After hearing your responses, I'm not sure what to do. If my pre-med adviser says it is okay, is it?

You pre-med advisor doesn't know the requirements for every school. They differ in what they expect.
