I was curious whether or not your publishings in biomedical fields prior to medical school affect residency matching or chance of interviews.

I would imagine a history of achievement that you can trace back as far as possible would be something you'd wanna highlight in applying for residency though.

I've heard people that had to talk about their undergraduate research in residency interviews. It's especially relevant if you continue similar research in medical school. I don't know how much it benefits an application, but I'd hazard to guess it doesn't hurt (assuming it's relevant to the residency).

Yeah I hear ya, what I suppose I'd say is anything you can do to make yourself to stick out from other applicants is something that you'll want to do. I know for my med school applications this year I referenced stuff from high school...and I'm 30...and it was brought up favorably during my interviews.

You can put anything on your residency app. Yes, this includes pre-medical research and publications.

Many of my EC's that got me into medical school also got me interviews for residency.

Publications carry on for life. It doesn't matter if they were in high school. Just doing research in undergrad probably doesn't hold too much weight if it isn't continued.
