Call schools and ask. Yes, they take into account your school. I only know of one school that has a numeric ranking system. You should be fine with that GPA though. If you look at the averages to get into school, they really are not very high except for a few. I went to a cutthroat school as well. When talking with reps they said that we can have much lower GPAs. They also tend to like students who can succeed in that environment because they know "what we get put through."
