ASA is a salicylate 🙂

And ibuprofen is an arylpropionate dear.. but they're all NSAIDs..

because they're anti-inflmmatory drugs.. while not steroidal.

Hence ASA is an NSAID.

Does it have to do with the Cox enzyme?

Cox enzyme and prostaglandin inhibition are what's common about NSAIDs.. ASA is unique because it has an anti-platelet activity.. at low dose.
