Hey Guys,

I have a question about courseload in college. I know UOP looks favorably upon those who have courseload above 17 units a quarter. I averaged between 12-16 units a quarter. There's nothing I can do about that now, because I am applying this fall. My GPA is 3.5. Do you think the GPA matters more or the courseload?

Thanks,
Tami

I think the gpa obviously matters more, but they do take your courseload into consideration. Since the pharmacy school courseload is so huge they need to know that you can do it. But 12 - 16 is okay, it would be different if it were like half that.
They'll look at your overall and if you got good grades in the semesters where you took 16 and good grades when you took 12, they'll realize you're all good.

Tami,

I believe that as long as you have taken 14 units/semester for most of your college years, you should be ok. To tell ya the truth, 12 units is somewhat on the low end, unless you have a really busy work schedule or in a lot of extracurricular activities.

No worries. That's a great score. Alot of my classmates at UOP have grades lower than that (including me).

I averaged 12 units a quarter and had 3.0 gpa when i applied so i say it's all on the interview! good luck

UOP here i come
