I'm currently trying to finish my pre-requisites at MTSAC to get accepted into Western University ..

I'm now more serious than I have been before to get accepted into pharm school.

I'm currently deciding to change jobs because my current jobs requires so much of my time. Since I was in the midst of change, I thought I might as well obtain a job similar to my major.

Anyone have any ideas where to look for Pre-Pharmacy related jobs? Perhaps even clerical work?

pharmacy clerk and pharmacy technician are the only closely related jobs I can think of. However, you can always volunteer at a pharmacy, or hospital. Hell, volunteering in any health related field can be applied to pharmacy.

With that said, you don't have to work in pharmacy to get into pharmacy school. I knew of a girl who worked at a blood blank and she got into every single cali school she applied to, with no pharmacy experience.

If you are really serious, then here is some advice to you, focus and concentrate on the pre-req's because a 4.0 is a 4.0, and no school will ever question that. Once you have spare time, then concentrate on extracurriculars or a job that is flexible enough to work around your school schedule (and not the other way around).

I was just going through posts and I wanted to make the point that most students these days aren't that lucky. I go to CC and pay tuition out of pocket. I can't put school over work because if I didn't work, I wouldn't be in school.

As for the main issue in this thread, any job related to the health care industry is probably a good idea.

I just hope you are aware that when you apply to pharmacy school, the majority of the students you have to be worried about are those fulltime students from 4 year institutions, and not the JC/CC students who are in the same shoes that you are in. If you can't find a way to differentiate yourself from them, you will have a hard time getting a interview, much less getting accepted. If you don't believe me, check the statistics of how many people who get accepted without a bachelors.

P.S. I went the jc/cc route and I had to support myself financially, so I know what you are going through, but don't make the mistake by underestimating who your competition will be and what you have to sacrifice in order to compete with them.
