Hi everyone, Im just curious if anyone knows and recommends excellent pre pharmacy curriculi and universities/colleges or community colleges? I have been very interested in pharmacy since high school, which i graduated back in 2002, I took some college credit courses but not as seriously as I should have so I decided to take a break, get married have a family and go to work, Im a certified pharmacy tech, I love it, but I want more so this brings me to the reason Im inquiring your help. Im ready to buckle down and get serious with my life and continue on my goal to become a pharmacist. thanks

Congratulations on choosing to pursue Pharmacy!

While I am not familiar with many pre-pharmacy programs, I'll speak concerning my experience. I attended a community college in Florida and received an AA degree in Pre-Pharmacy before being accepted into Pharmacy school at UF. The quality of education I recieved in undergrad was sufficient to do well in the pharmacy curriculum. I have spoken with a few students who got a bachelors or a masters degrees before applying to pharmacy school and the classes have not been any easier for them. I would just attend a local community college and focus on extracurricular involvement and your GPA.

As for Pharmacy Schools, UF may be an excellent place to apply because of the distance campuses. Many of the students at the distance sites are nontraditional and since the lectures are viewed online it allows for them to spend more time with their families.
