RAship: My first peer-reviewed article is almost in-press! Yay!!!!
We've made good headway on two other papers and will hopefully get them out soon, and we're starting on a forth. Also, I successfully defend my thesis prospectus and received IRB approval while there
Project at another U (on which I am the PI): My Co-I is super nice, and she's been supporting my ambitions and seems to be putting in good words for me around the department
(I'm applying to different program in the same department). Our project is ready to be sent off to the IRBs (yep, two of them) for approval, and the first half of our potential manuscript is drafted.
Other stuff: I've gotten some awesome child experience, and I am very happy to confirm that I actually like working with kids, as aggravating as they can be at times (I never thought I'd say, "If you put any more tape on your face, I'm going to take it away from you"--said in a completely non-clinical context). I really like the Tests and Assesment class I'm taking online as well, and one of my theses is ready to be written up for a final defense (sadly, no support for my main hypotheses).
Not-so-great stuff: My PI didn't get one of the grants she applied for.
Also, a depressing number of my friends' parents have died this summer. 🙁
