Pre-reading textbooks before classes start

I saw a similar post about this but the classes that I am trying to prepare for are genetics and orgo 1. Instead of reading the textbooks which I already have, can someone suggest something in those classes that would be beneficial to memorize beforehand? I also purchased the orgo as a second language book so something besides that.

If you want to prepare for orgo you can start familiarizing yourself with functional groups.
