Hey all!
So I've been applying to SMPs recently, and I've noticed something that came across as slightly troubling.
Earlier this year, I spoke with my counselor, and she told me that the two remaining pre-med reqs that I have left (1 quarter of English to finish my year of english, and 1 quarter of LS1) could be taken at a community college over the summer while I apply to schools.
However, I've noticed on some application sites that they state that "full pre-med reqs" are required for every applicant.
As of now, I haven't fully completed my reqs, but I aim to finish them during the summer. Would this prevent my application from being reviewed and thus prevent any possibility of admission? I've already submitted some apps, so I'm getting slightly worried.
I also had a couple of other questions that are more general and less relating to SMPs, but here goes:
For my LS/Biology requirement, I actually already have a year done. LS 2,3, and 4 at my school covered a full year. Do I still have to take LS1?
For my English requirement, I'm actually a lot more confused. At my school (UCLA), they append a "W" at the end of all explicit writing courses. However, I have taken non-W classes that are fully writing based, such as Classics 42, which had numerous essays, reading, etc. If I were to include Classics 42 as part of my writing requirement, I would have my year of English fulfilled. Do any of you know how med schools and SMPs view this sort of situation?
Any help and advice would be much appreciated! I really hope you guys can answer my questions, as it would go a long way toward easing my fears D:
