I'm currently taking A&P as well as Organic Chem, I'll be taking biochem, cell bio and physics next year. I have the prerequisite knowledge to do well in these classes (straight A's fall term!). However, some of my basic science credits are from 1995. I have A's from my basic bio sequence back then but my gen chem grades aren't as great. I received an A first term but C's the two subsequent terms.

Should I be thinking about retaking these classes? Obviously it's only the general chem that I'd retake to increase my grade but as for the bio....does anyone know if these credits expire? I'll be applying for OHSU.

Also, my GPA for my current school is 3.89 (one stinkin A-) but my cumulative is only 3.2 due to not taking school seriously over 10 years ago. Do dental schools take into account changing trends in grades? Time having passed and the capacity for people to have "found their path" etc?

I know that people here aren't admissions personnel but I'd appreciate any hunches or personal experiences you could relay.

Thanks.

P.S.

I looked at OHSU's site but I didn't was unable to find any information about whether or not pre-req credits expire.

As for the old sciences I have one chem from 1996 and got accepeted without any questions.

Anyone else have any input?

Almost all of my pre-reqs are over 10 years old and nobody said anything yet, or even seemed the slightest bit concerned. I have two interviews (UW, Columbia) and no rejections.

Thanks for the info so far guys.

Does anyone know how GPA's are viewed for non-traditional applicants? If I have a 3.2 cumulative from my prior schooling (10+ years ago) but nearly a 4.00 for my current two years will they just look at my overall cumulative or will they compare the two?
