I am in Gainesville and UF has a master's program that allows student to take pre reqs needed for med school. My question is would adcom view my pre req differently than someone who has done a post bac?

I am unsure what the program is but it sounds like a post-bacc charging graduate prices for the same classes

The program is in Health education with a pre-professional emphasis. Upon graduation I will be a certified health educator plus have all my pre reqs completed. They have a new post bac program that cost about 585 per credit. the masters program is the cheaper of the two options because all undergrad classes I take will be priced at the undergrad fee/hr which is about 200. I was thinking of doing the pre reqs at santa fe college which is a community college but after reading a few post on SDN I am not sure that's a good idea.

"post" means after
"bac" means bachelors
"postbac" means anything you do after undergrad

For the purpose of med school admissions, postbac implies that you decided to go for med school after you already had a bachelors. The context in which you get the prereqs done is a detail buried in a detail. But the school where you get the prereqs done does matter. For example if you are doing a health education masters at a chiropractic college that offers the prereqs, that would not be the same as doing UNM or similar.

Be aware that you may be required to categorize the prereqs as grad work, which means they would not be reflected in your undergrad GPA. This may or may not matter, depending on your undergrad numbers and MCAT. Generally a good grad GPA is neutral, nowhere close to the weight of undergrad GPA. See the very comprehensive AMCAS instructions for more info - don't take anybody's word for it when there's such a good official resource.

Best of luck to you.

@DrMidlife Thank you for your advice and I know what post bac means. My undergrad GP is ~ 3.7. I am no looking to do GPA repair just to do my prereqs and be able to support my family. University of F'lorida's post bac will cost me ~ 5ok for two years and they do not have financial aid available because the program just stated last year. The prereqs are at the college of Liberal arts and Science at UF which has all the premeds. I will also be able to use their advising center.
