Hey Guys,

First time posting. I have a question about the pre-req process.

I took a class at my undergrad called Structure Mind and Behavior that is equivalent to PSY101 or General Psych. Freshman year i was a wreck and got a D in it but i retook it and got an A.

Once i graduated and made the choice to switch to PT i started taking the pre-reqs. Not knowing that the undergrad class counted as Gen. Psy, i took another general psych class at in which i received a C-.

My last pscyh class i took was Cognitive Psych and got an A.

Cog. Psych= A
Structure Mind Behavior (equiv to Gen Psych)= D to A
Gen Psych= C-

So during the application process will i be able to distinguish the 2 of the 3 i want to count as my pre-reqs? Obviously all schools would not accept the C- class.

Any info will be a massive help guys, thanks.

Depends on the school. Some schools will average the 2 gen psych grades. Some schools will take the highest grade. If cognitive psych is also a prereq, it will stand on its own.

were all the classes taken at the same school? An often overlooked (but expensive and not recommended) strategy is taking your pre-reqs at a different school or CC especially if you are chasing a retake of one specifically hard class such as chem or physics, then if you do poorly you never have to disclose your transcript.

if all 3 gen psych classes were taken at the same school, most(not all) schools average all 3 grades together leaving you with around a C
