I'm a transfer student from a community college. I did most of my pre-reqwork (Bio, gen chem, o-chem) at the CC. I've taken a fair amount of upperdivision courses at the University as I decided to major in Veterinary Science. My combined GPA is about 3.5, but I'm expecting it to be closer to a 3.6 by thetime I graduate with my BS.

Question: How can I find out if a Graduate school will accept my community collegecredits? I'm having a hard time navigating and finding the information directlyon the various school's websites. Is there a spreadsheet somewhere the breaksdown requirements for each school? Do any of you know people who have beenaccepted taking both Community and University classes?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to decide onwhich path to take so I'd like to research the options available and could useyour help.

Thanks,

Jen

For vet school or dental school?

I have no idea for vet school, and your question is better posed in a vet forum (I am just assuming that is where you are headed with your major).

If you are talking dental school, it is acceptable at a lot of schools but a few won't take CC credits.

Don't be a bum. Just retake those courses at your 4-yr college so you can prove your science ability is legit. Otherwise, it will be a huge red flag and you will need to score 22+ TS on DAT to back it up. I mean if you score low on TS, you mind as well go shopping with your app fees.

Taking science classes at CC does not make one a bum. I took all of my pre-reqs at community colleges, and have 6 interview invites so far. For your record, the biochem class I took at 4-year uni was a joke compared to the organic chem classes that I took at CC. Classes at 4-year colleges are not necessarily harder, and vice versa. However, I did transfer to a selective university and did well on upper-division science courses and got 22+ AA on my DAT. If you have the ability, you will show it one way or another.

Perhaps this was the reason why you got 6 interviews. You shouldn't distort the facts to paint your picture.

I think most people were under the assumption that he transferred though, not like he went from cc to ds?

This is correct and factual. My story is similar. CC credit is fine, assuming you continue doing well.

Don't sweat it OP, just continue producing results.

Learning...:luck: Taking science classes at CC does not make one a bum

Maybe not a total bum, but at least a semi-bum.

I suppose all of us who continually refute your ignorant posts are bums... a 4.0 and 22AA, clearly bum status. 🙄
