Well, I'm finishing up my first year of college at PSU. After this semester I'll have Calc, Anatomy, Physiology, English, Econ, and some electives out of the way and am holding down a 3.52 atm which I think I can bring up if I try harder.

I want to get out of here though because PSU sucks (I'm at a branch campus) and they screw you on the classes they make you take. I skipped a lot of classes already that they were trying to make me take before I could take the more "advanced" courses that I apparently wasn't ready for.

I'd like to go to WVU, PITT, or CCAC (community college). I know a lot of your have went to community college and seem to like it but I have that feeling that's it's a lesser institution stuck in my head. So, for those of you in CC and especially those of you that have been to both CC and a big University. Is there anything you feel you miss at CC, like the college experience or anything (I know Pre-pharms don't party lol  ) that makes you wish you went to a University?

How about getting into Pharm. school? During the interviews are they going to ask me why I switched from PSU to a community college and what exactly should I tell them? Should I just be honest and say it was because it's cheaper to go there? Which Pharm. schools don't accept community college credits?

Sorry I know there's a lot of questions jumbled up in there. I just don't want them to look down on my work for going to a CC. I have one last question though, does an associates degree help entry into graduate school at all (I know a Bach. does)? I ask because if I do go to CCAC they have an assoc. program in nuclear medicine which also includes a lot of Pharmaceutical classes. If I went ahead and did that I figured I'd also have a degree to get a nice job if I don't get in on my first attempt and I could say in my interview that it got me interested in nuclear pharmacy, etc., etc. and hopefully help my chances of getting in.

Why not transfer to a different four year university? Is there a dual enrollment program available? Many pharmacy schools accept CC courses, but some have restrictions on certain classes that can only be taken at a four year university. There are also schools out there that consider courses from a four year school more competitive, and there are some that like students with a bachelors (Pacific University in Oregon 80% accepted PharmD students had a bachelors).

Why does your school suck? They want you to take prep classes you don't think you need? But you skipped the classes anyways? So you have the option not to take them? Then what are you worried about?

Are you considering a CC because it's cheaper or because you feel PSU sucks? You say "be honest and tell them because it's cheaper" is that why? I'm sure they will ask, I know I would.
